Kon + Amir Present: The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Samples Of All Time

It might take you a while to get through the whole list but it's definitely worth your while. A journey through soul, jazz, fusion and all the weirdness you can only find on old wax. Here you get the full original tracks and the full hip hop joints made with those samples (stream only) accompanied by a few words from Kon and Amir for each release. Head over to complex.com to check it out. Enjoy.

Diverse Concepts

After a couple of hours of intense soundclouding, I found some great beats by Diverse Concepts from Cardiff. The man has a track with Chesus (C.R.S.T.) called 'Baduka' forthcoming on Doc Daneeka's Ten Thousand Yen label (LISTEN HERE) on a ltd 10" colour vinyl and I'm sure more of his tracks will be snatched up by other labels soon. Very melodic and percussive in many different styles, from dubstep to jazz. I'll let the music talk:

La La La - DiverseConcepts by diverseconcepts

Filtered Tropics - DiverseConcepts by diverseconcepts

 Boxed - DiverseConcepts by diverseconcepts

Barry Whiteside 'Dead Lover's Waltz'

From his Yotube Channel:

"My experimentation with stop motion animation. Yes, that rhymed. I am something of a wordsmith.

This video took nearly 2,000 photos to make. I'm serious, my boredom is actually becoming a problem."

LYRICS

Here I go again alone on the streets
Ain't nobody who can make my heart beat
Cause I'm invisible now to the thieves and crooks
All dressed up in my cufflinks and tux

CHORUS
Doing the dead lover's waltz
In the afterlife ball
I could have settled but I wanted it all

Don't waste no time in stoppin' to wonder
If they still love you when you're six feet under
They leave the flowers and the notes by your grave
But heaven knows that you're not there anyway

Lyrics and music by Barry Whiteside.

Thanks to AK for the tip.
